Climate change investing 101: How I finally wised up and dropped fossil fuels from my IRAs

I’ve been telling myself for five or more years that I need to divest from fossil fuels in my IRA and 401(k)/403(b) portfolios. I’ve never owned a fossil fuel stock directly, but I’ve known that they’re a part of the index mutual funds that I have owned, such as the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index. As a small, self-managed investor, it’s not altogether obvious how to get out of fossil fuel investments. Here, I am sharing my personal divestment research.
